An off-duty Toledo firefighter saved the life of a referee after he collapsed during a basketball game in New York.

Myles Copeland, a player with Glass City Basketball Club, saw the referee go down, telling ABC13.com that he was not breathing and did not have a pulse, so he began life-saving measures.

After 10 minutes of CPR and other measures, the referee was alert.

“It was just kind of divine timing that I was there in the right place at the right time,” Copeland said.
